What to know about GHRP-6

GHRP-6 is a growth-hormone secretagogue and ghrelin-receptor agonist studied mainly through acute endocrine challenge experiments.

How it may work
It activates the ghrelin receptor, stimulating growth-hormone release and often appetite-related signalling; hypothalamic and pituitary pathways both contribute.
What research found
Small human studies report acute growth-hormone responses and explored how native GHRH modifies the effect. They do not establish long-term body-composition outcomes.
What is not settled
Human long-term safety is not established. Potential concerns include altered glucose control, appetite, fluid balance, and broader pituitary-hormone effects.
Research and product status
GHRP-6 has no licensed U.S. product and is prohibited in sport under WADA's growth-hormone secretagogue category.

Research reference

Research amount range
100–200 mcg per administration — not a starting amount
Reference frequency
Twice a day — catalogue input, not a personal schedule
Evidence route
Subcutaneous in the cited evidence; formulation matters. Sites and rotation
Model accumulation timescale
~2 hours — about five half-lives with regular repeated exposure; not time to a result
Storage
Storage and in-use limits depend on the exact formulation and packaging. A compound name alone cannot establish temperature, diluent, or shelf life. Details

When results may show

When change was measured
Small human studies measured acute growth-hormone release and food intake over hours. They do not establish when muscle, recovery, sleep, or body-composition outcomes appear.
When to assess
No strong long-duration human outcome study provides a week at which commonly claimed goals should be judged. Acute hunger or a hormone rise is not a durable outcome.
Conditions and limitations
The experiments do not validate bedtime use, fasting, exercise timing, or pairing with a GHRH analogue as necessary for a meaningful longer-term result.
When to stop
No validated target, course length, maintenance phase, or quit rule exists for common research use. Do not increase or prolong exposure solely because a claimed result is absent.

Research timing is descriptive, not a promise or personal instruction. A severe or persistent reaction needs prompt clinical review. This is not medical advice.

Published research contexts for GHRP-6 describe 100–200 mcg per administration. Descriptive only, not a recommendation.

Roughly 15–20 minutes in plasma.

An early growth-hormone-releasing hexapeptide given to human volunteers, but no trial fixes a subcutaneous amount or schedule; the circulating figures are community-derived, so no schedule table is shown.
